Practice areas

Angus was called in 1992. He has been in practice at the Bar continuously since then. In his formative years he undertook numerous high profile Murder and Terrorism cases at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey). He also undertook a number of Privy Council matters.

He is a former Head of Chambers of one of the largest sets in Gray’s Inn. Over the last 15 years he has developed an impressive clientele of organisations and individuals that frequently instruct him.

He specialises in complex litigation. With over a quarter of a century of experience in the art of cross-examination, contested cases are his passion.


Business

Obtaining, or defending, injunctions on behalf of Companies.

Angus appears frequently in the High Court instructed in Directors Disqualifications, Liquidation’s and Partnership disputes.

He deals with all manner of contractual issues.


Employment

Angus represents a number of national organisations including Dunelm Soft Furnishing [12,000 employees] and the British Footwear Association.

For Claimant work, he has obtained the statutory maximum awards in cases of Unfair Dismissal. He has been successful in bringing Wrongful Dismissal, TUPE, protected disclosures (Whistleblowing) and Discrimination cases before the Employment Tribunal.


Public & regulatory

Angus undertakes work before the NMC, GMC, HCPC, GDC and TA. He undertakes Coroners Inquests, Court of Protection, ACCA, VAT and Upper Tax Tribunal work.
